Josh Bonner, Intern in Florida

Does your teen son seem overwhelmed, angry, or shut down and you wish they had someone safe to talk to who really gets it?

Do you feel stuck in patterns that you can’t seem to break alone? Are you carrying the weight of anxiety, shame, or relational shame, while longing for freedom and clarity?

Are you seeking faith-based counseling that honors your story meets you where you are, and helps you move toward healing and wholeness in Christ?

Hello! My name is Josh Bonner. With 20 years of experience in people-centered roles—spanning education, global missions, and pastoral ministry—I have dedicated my life to walking alongside others in their personal, spiritual, and relational growth. It would be my honor to support and witness the healing God has in store for you.

I believe that following Jesus is an invitation to be restored in every way as a human being. At the very beginning of His earthly ministry, Jesus declared that He was sent “to heal the brokenhearted, and to proclaim liberty to the captives” (Luke 4:18). My goal as a therapist is to help clients experience this offer from Christ to live freely and wholeheartedly, in a world often marked by brokenness, burden, discouragement, and anxiety.

I have experience counseling married couples, teens, men, and individuals struggling with viewing pornography. My therapeutic approach can be described as relational, Christ-centered, and rooted in a deep belief in the transformative power of grace, community, and truth. My greatest joy is helping individuals and families discover healing, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose in Christ.

I see myself as an “alongsider,” someone who comes alongside you in your journey, not to fix or force, but to support, listen, and gently guide. Like a Holy Spirit assistant, I consider it a sacred privilege to be part of someone’s growth and healing. I walk with men through anxiety, shame, or marital crisis, help couples rediscover connection, and bolster young men who are stepping into adulthood. I love stepping into the gap during moments that feel overwhelming or uncertain. My friends often say I have a gift for creating a space where men feel safe enough to feel deeply, sometimes even cry, which I take as a compliment.

Outside of ministry and counseling, I’m blessed to be married to my amazing wife, Kari, and we’re the proud parents of two sons. I love cycling, hiking in national parks, reading, card games, and the adventure of traveling internationally. I hope you’ll reach out today so we can explore how therapy can help you live more freely, connectedly, and whole-heartedly.
