Shaun Metzger, Intern in Florida

Do you feel overwhelmed by anxiety or stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand?

Are you navigating a life transition and quietly wondering who you are becoming in the middle of it?

Have your relationships left you confused, discouraged, or unsure how to move forward?

Hi, I’m Shaun, and I believe counseling is a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. It’s a place to slow down, ask honest questions, and start making sense of your story. I’ve spent a lot of time exploring the deeper questions of life, identity, purpose, and what it means to live well. That perspective shapes how I sit with clients, not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone willing to explore those questions with you.

I work primarily with teens and young adults. In these stages of life, it is not uncommon to notice anxiety or depression as you are experiencing significant life transitions. Some people feel disoriented, especially when it seems like everyone else has it all figured out. Together, we can create space to process what you’re carrying, understand what’s beneath the surface, and begin moving toward clarity, healing, and growth.

I see myself as a fellow pilgrim, someone who will journey alongside you with gentleness and curiosity. My role is not to rush you or fix you, but to walk with you as you begin to understand yourself more deeply and take meaningful steps forward.

I also work with individuals who want support navigating relationships. You might be a teen trying to make sense of dating or feeling the weight of conflict at home. These experiences can be confusing, especially when you’re still learning how to express what you feel and need.

If you’re beginning your career, you may have realized that relationships in the workplace are more complex than you expected. Figuring out boundaries, communication, and how to show up authentically with others can feel overwhelming when everything is new. I would love to help ease your load.

Relationships are a central part of our lives, and they can be both deeply meaningful and incredibly challenging. Together, we can explore patterns, strengthen communication, and help you engage others in ways that feel more honest, grounded, and aligned with who you are becoming.

My approach to counseling is grounded in both thoughtful reflection and faith. I desire to partner with God in bringing His healing into the lives of those I work with. I am passionate about helping people move through anxiety and depression into a life marked by greater joy and peace, not as an abstract idea, but as something that becomes real and lived out over time.

While we don’t control everything in our lives, we are invited to respond to what we’ve been given. And we don’t do that alone. As Jesus reminds us, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). If you’re looking for a space to be honest, to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, and to begin moving toward healing and growth, I would be honored to walk with you.
