Greetings! My name is Clarissa Melvin. I am excited and very blessed to serve God's people. In life, we all have struggles and oppositions. What do you do with the hurt, the pain, the struggle, the disappointment that you can’t let go of, and the negative thoughts that continue to plague you? Are you tired of facing it all alone?

At times it is helpful to have someone to come along beside you to navigate these challenges. You owe it to yourself to connect with a therapist who will assist and be hopeful with you. Maya Angelou once said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” My mom says this too! I want my clients to feel safe, seen and heard when they are with me. My heart's desire is to be someone who walks with you on your journey to be the best you that God has planned. I want to be a safe person to help you find peace in the midst of the storm. 

Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

While I have been in the counseling and education field for over 20 years, I rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in addition to my education and experience while counseling my clients. I believe God is the trusted source of life and he wants you to connect with his love in a very real, tangible way. He wants to give you hope, peace, and joy in your times of trouble.

I work with children, teens, adults, and couples to find healing in the areas of trauma, grief, depression, family dynamics, and relationship issues. I am especially passionate about serving engaged couples by offering premarital counseling. Regardless of what brings you to my office, I want you to know that I view myself as a partner in healing and a servant of God above all. I am eager to support you and to witness the growth that I believe will occur when you commit yourself to the therapeutic process.

~ Providing counseling since 1997 to kids, adolescents, individuals, families, and couples in a variety of settings, including:

  • In-Home (Court-ordered for youth and families)

  • Case Management (At-risk youth and their families)

  • Behavioral Health Hospital (Patients under the Baker and Marchman Acts)

  • Community-Based Care (Veterans with dual diagnosis, Individuals experiencing homelessness

~ Working for several years with students as a guidance counselor, classroom teacher, and director of an academic center for students struggling academically
